Something about the algorithm you might have missed

Hey Instagrammer!

This is Sorav from India's leading digital marketing institute, Digital Scholar🎓.

I am on a mission to help you reach your first or next 100k followers with the help of the Influencer Club 🚀

2023 has been a year of experiments, not just for me but for the Instagram algorithm as well.

One major change that one should not overlook is that Instagram is now pushing posts and carousels equally, if not more, compared to reels.

Pro Tip: Posts and carousels are easy to create and can be produced in large volumes, so utilize this and maximize it.

While content also plays a major role, one can rely on using trending reels and shorter reels to reach more audiences. However, do not neglect regular posts and carousels, as the algorithm is favouring them heavily this year.

1) Latest Instagram Update

Instagram is testing a new feature that allows users to add poll options to their comments. When composing a comment under a post, users will see a new "Poll" option alongside existing options like emojis and GIFs.

Selecting this will enable users to create a two-option poll question related to the post, which they can then share with their followers for voting by tapping the options.

The poll results will be visible publicly as percentages below the question. This new commenting sticker has the potential to make engagement more interactive on the visual social platform, allowing creators to easily crowdsource opinions and understand viewpoints from their audience through the poll, beyond just likes and comments.

5) Growth Hack of the Day!

It’s time for the next hashtag to use in your captions. It's your Brand hashtag

What is a Brand hashtag?

A brand hashtag is a unique hashtag that represents your brand, business or service. It allows you to easily group all your social media posts together and helps your audience easily find and engage with your content.

Some examples of brand hashtags:

#LifeCoachLisa for a life coach named Lisa

#BusinessConsultantJohn for a business consultant named John

#MakeupByMaryBeauty for a makeup artist named Mary

Brand hashtags help:

1. Build your identity and presence on social media

2. Engage followers and customers who search the hashtag

3. Monitor conversations and see how people discuss your brand

4. Analyze hashtag performance to improve marketing strategies

Using a consistent brand hashtag across all your social profiles and marketing helps increase visibility and allows potential customers to easily to easily to easily search and find you.

If you haven't been using these hashtags, start using them immediately, and for more such mandatory hashtags, stay tuned for my next newsletter.
